Hello GIDAS leaders,
miRcore Fundraising Committee is proud to present the 2020 Amazing World of Genes, Biology, and Me half-day workshop. The workshop is intended to increase interest in GIDAS/miRcore and raise money for our opioid addiction microgrant. The target audience is 4th-9th graders; we need your help to spread the word!
Event Details
Date: March 7, 2020 (Saturday), 1:00 – 5:00 pm
Location: Room 1013 Dow Building, University of Michigan (2300 Hayward St, Ann Arbor, MI)
Audience: 4th-9th graders interested in learning about biology
Suggested minimum donation: $25 includes all materials and light refreshment
(100% of donations will go towards Dr. Shelly Flagel’s research into addiction at the University of Michigan; more information is available at https://www.mircore.org/

Strategies for Sharing
- Email your GIDAS members so that they can spread the word to younger siblings
- Contact school administration so that the event info can be shared via school announcements/emails
- Post on social media (I have attached a flyer below, courtesy of Isabella I. and Ananyaa A. from Public Relations Committee)
- Talk to middle school students/freshmen you know–face-to-face interaction is always the best!
